Most of the posts are first drafts or lightly-edited 2nd drafts and are likely to remain so. They will lack a quality I desperately want for them, in clarity, grammar, concision, etc. I appreciate any feedback meant to help in these regards, I am curious to know what shortcomings stand out to the reader. I will work on them as best I can.
This blog is a hobby. I have a wife, kids, and a career. I am not paid for this at all. I have time constraints. It is much like a diary, written for myself first but with hope that it can appeal to some readers as well, eventually.
As of this writing, the blog is less than 2 months old and still in an experimental phase where I am trying to focus on a few particular purposes. I am essentially trying to catalog the world with Drumpf as president of the United States on a day-to-day basis, from the perspective of someone who identifies as a leftist almost completely opposed to the impacts Drumpf and Co. are trying to have on the world. My interest is in creating a historical memory of how events unfolded from the beginning of his presidency and in how the left responded to them, in hopes of clarifying multiple, often conflicting left-wing perspectives so that they can be reflected on to formulate best practices in movement-building going forward. I will try to do all this with a fairly personal touch, not dry strategic analysis. As a student of history, I believe it is impossible to fully understand how history unfolded without understanding the experiences of people who lived it. So I want this all to have a rather intimate feel, in hopes it will be readable and engaging, and maybe even useful as a historical document.
